How Hard Is A Pro Cyclocross Course? Beginner Vs Infamous Zonhoven Sandpit

Date: 2019-11-03 10:00:07

Cyclo-cross is a brutal sport, involving a mixture of terrain and brutal, lung busting efforts on a bike with no suspension and narrow tyres. But often the hardest part is the race course, and none compare to the infamous Zonhoven sandpit in Belgium. Zonhoven forms part of the Telenet Superprestige cyclocross series which is the premier professional series in Belgium, and the course has huge, steep sand banks which challenge even the best professional cyclists…. So obviously we thought it would be a good idea to send Ollie to give it a try. Did we mention that he’s never ridden CX before?
