FLETCHER, N.C. (BRAIN) — Component manufacturer Cane Creek has suspended operations through April 10 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taiwan operations will continue normally, according to a Cane Creek news release.
The shutdown became necessary with Buncombe County, where most of Cane Creek’s workforce lives, and nearby Henderson County issued shelter-in-place mandates.
“We’re just complying with those,” Luke Bukoski, Cane Creek director of marketing, told BRAIN.
Online orders will be fulfilled once the facility reopens. Product support inquiries should be directed through email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Expect longer response times.
Cane Creek is targeting April 13 to reopen. It joined Bicycle Technologies Inc., who on Friday said it will cease operations temporarily at the end of the day due to COVID-19. RockyMounts also announced it was shutting down temporarily this week.
Some bicycle companies not suspending operations have switched to manufacturing personal protective equipment, including Kitsbow Cycling Apparel and Industry Nine, who are both Western North Carolina neighbors of Cane Creek.
